I wrote this one morning while watching the sun rise over the Rhode Island shoreline. It was actually two different ideas that were going nowhere until they were combined in this song.

Soaring through the sky and beyond the sea
Lord You are the words and the melody
Your love is the glad song You sang for me
Finished on the dark hill of Calvary
A sweet song of life to set my soul free
And as I bow my head, remember words You said
I lose all my dread 'cause I know the blood You shed
Brought my soul back from the dead
Scarlet sins no longer red
