"I wrote this song after making a horrible decision to move to Toronto. Toronto is a beautiful place, but I wasn't ready in my heart and the people I had surrounded myself with made it even more impossible to stay."

Up 30,000 feet, got on a plane to fly
Long-wait stuck to my seat
Away from paradise
Ready for concrete
Grey streets and skylines
I landed on my feet, but I didn’t read the signs
Now I know, just where to go
Every time the wind blows… (the wind blows, the wind blows)
Now I see, as I get older, it’ll always take me home
(Take me home, Take me home)
I know just what you’re doing
You wanted me to stay
It’s not my fault you’re provin
Why it has to be this way
I know you think I need you
But I can make it on my own
That’s why my flight is leavin’
I was already Home.
Already home
I was already half way back to myself, a trip to last a life
Half-way back from the dead, no turbulence in sight
Then somebody told me, ‘always jive with the city’
cause I can’t make it work – this place just won’t jive with me
I’m not a country boy, I was born in the city
But even if you had good intentions, it wouldn’t be pretty
Now I know, just where to go, every time the wind blows… (the wind blows)
Now I see, as I get older, it’ll always take me home… (Take me home, Take me home)
I know just what you’re doing
You wanted me to stay
It’s not my fault you’re provin’
Why it has to be this way
I know you think I need you, but I can make it on my own, That’s why my flight is leavin’, I was already Home
Home
I was already home
I was already half-way back to myself, a trip to last a life –
halfway back from the dead, no turbulence in sight
