This song was written based on the memory I had during a sermon a preacher preached, asking us to envision Jesus on the cross in the mist of all that was going on in our lives weather good or bad. No matter what was going on in my life, I stopped, looked up, and I saw Him, hanging on the tree for the remission of my sins.

It's been awhile, now, since I've let go
of the things the brought me down.
Complicated, yet over-rated
all the chains that held me bound.
Overwhelmed and hard to believe, yeah
that's why down here on my knees
I started to walk away, and just leave
'Til I saw You
Hangin' on the tree,
I saw You
The Blood You shed for me
I was so blind that I couldn't even see,
'Til I saw You
Over-shadowed in the mire,
Seperation all alone
Then You touched me with Your fire,
In You I have a home
Overwhelmed and hard to believe, yeah
that's why down here on my knees
I started to walk away, and just leave
I saw You
Hangin' on the tree,
I saw You
The Blood You shed for me
I was so blind that I couldn't even see
Never knew the Holy Truth
All this peace and love, just broke on through
I saw You
Hangin' on the tree,
I saw You
The Blood You shed for me
I was so blind that I couldn't even see,
I was so blind that I couldn't even see, yeah
I was so blind that I couldn't even see
'Til I saw you
