My attempt at writing a Crossroads song

Written Halloween, 2020. A very dark time.

Somewhere over the hill, down around the highway
I gave a moment or two to a man I never knew
He stopped me in the middle of the road and then he started smiling
Speaking in rhymes then he asked me if I ever flew
SOMETHING FEELS OUT OF PLACE
I COULDN'T FORGET HIS FACE IF I TRIED
HE LAUGHED AT ME AND DANCED IN THE DIM MOONLIGHT
I FOUND MYSELF LOST IN THE NIGHT
I woke up in a diner somewhere down around the highway
Sitting in a booth with some girls that I didn't know
My pockets full of cash and
the
keys to a world that was never coming my way
Tattooed cross my face were the words I OWN YOU
WHERE DID I GO WRONG THAT NIGHT
A DARKNESS IS ALL I THAT I SEE
I NEVER REALIZED MY SOUL WAS MINE
UNTIL I SIGNED MY NAME ON THAT LINE
(Bridge)
Where do you go when there's no place to hide?
Stupid mistakes, feeling empty inside
To never know peace or to be satisified
Will God forgive a man after he's been denIed
Somewhere over the hill, down around the highway
I lost a moment or two to the man I never knew
He pointed to his watch and then grinned, his shadow falling my way
I’ll always regret that I gave him that rendezvous
ETERNITY IN A SEA OF FLAMES
THE MAN WITH THE PLAN HAS TOO MANY NAMES
A MOMENT OF PLEASURE HAS TOO HIGH A PRICE
DON’T LISTEN TO HIS WORDS, THEY’RE ALL JUST LIES
Somewhere over the hill, down around the highway
