One day
The dawn waltz’s in,
as the darkness skulks away.
The radio screams “Morning!”,
as you face another day.
This one’s like the last one
& you run the same routine,
Wondrin’ what it’s all about,
like you’re locked into a dream.
And one day you say you’ll change things.
And one day you’ll be free.
One day the man won’t own you.
One day they’ll let you be
We make our own realities,
the ruts in which we run
But sometimes being sensible
kinda takes away the fun.
And in the grey-eyed morning,
when things just feel the same,
Remember money’s not everything –
there’s more to life than fame.
And one day you say you’ll change things.
And one day you’ll be free.
One day the man won’t own you.
One day they’ll let you be
Don’t trash those goals
Be who you are
Be genuine each moment
And show them that you care
Sax break
And one day you’ll change things.
And one day you’ll be free.
One day the man won’t own you.
One day they’ll let you be
