Used to run cross the ironstone quarry
climb the tree by the spring n stream
lived the moment without a worry
used to feel like the cat that got the cream
Used to wade through the ford by the mill pond
The sun used to shine summer long
with your friends you had a lifetime bond
scuffed up knees n skin turned bronze
Oh those days - they seem so long ago
What was to come? We didn't even know
Remembered days of childhood
Times were hard but life was good
Running round the neighborhood
Place was rough but had so much love
Break
Never thought the world was scary
Played outside without a care
Things just felt light an airy
No-one seemed to be without a prayer
Oh those days - they seem so long ago
What was to come? We didn't even know
Remembered days of childhood
Times were hard but life was good
Running round the neighborhood
Place was rough but had so much love
