I wrote the original lyric in late 2024. At the time, I was in the midst of an intense three-month course in abstract art, so my thoughts were awash with colours and all manner of imagery. It was exhilerating, and the text was almost stream-of-consciousness. Not even sure what I was writing about. ;) I later shortened the piece by about half.
During this time, I’d been listening to the symphonic metal band ‘Nightwish’ and the amazing Dutch singer Floor Jansen. I knew the music I wanted for the lyric would be along the lines of theatrical/symphonic metal.
I also gave Suno scope to have the melody sung in a key far higher than in the demo I provided. ;)

Make of the story what you will. Perhaps it's a supplicant appealing to a supreme being of some kind. Or an impassioned woman beseeching her artist lover. (-: Or whatever else you can imagine...

[intro]
A naked canvas
Nervous on your easel
I’m a trinity of humanness
Both god- and devil-driven
…The person I aim to be
The person I seem to be
And the one I keep well hidden
[verse 1]
So paint me as a landscape
A lush green field
A lover of sunlight and the sky
…Cloud-obsessed and glowing
Concerned alone with the scent of air
And the way the wind is blowing
[chorus]
I’ll be the masterpiece you made
The vision you’ve always had of me
For heaven forbid your love should fade
Oh, heaven forbid
[verse 2]
Or capture me in charcoal
In bold black strokes
A lover of shadows and the night
…Terrified but willing
To poke at danger behind the trees
While I seek where the light is spilling
[chorus]
I’ll be the masterpiece you made
The vision you’ve always had of me
For heaven forbid your love should fade
Oh, heaven forbid
[bridge]
Oh, let the way you see me
Add something to the world
One more atom in an ocean of infinity
But blend the colours
Glaze them with gold
A dusting of divinity
[chorus]
I’ll be the masterpiece you made
The vision you’ve always had of me
For heaven forbid your love should fade
Oh, heaven forbid
[chorus shortened]
Oh heaven forbid your love should fade
Oh heaven forbid
[end]
