Don’t think I didn’t notice you close to the roses and smiling

Critically, "Don’t Think" is the sound of an "architect" who has finished building his walls and is now deciding to live inside them. While it expresses "thankfulness and pride," there is a haunting quality to the way "lies" are "not held to law of truth". As an art fan, I see a "Dastardly Bastard" who has found a way to "mask the shame" through a permanent, unquestioning union. Psychologically, the poem suggests that the only way to "run forever" is to stop the "clicking noise of juicy truth" and simply obey the title's command: Don't think.

I think…
I think my outer self which had been placed upon a shelf
to be viewed by you and “you know who”…
Who, for sure will collude to overthrow your mood
I think it can come back off display
I think my inner soul which I had placed upon your heart
To start the hunger, to spark your parts and smarts
And To validate your chosen art…
I think it all comes around someday
I think the lies told to protect my home
Are caught and not held to law of truth
Right or sought as gospel
I fought to say what’s needed, not bought
I know my name and words still ring true
I think these lessons learned are surely earned
It’s absurd to deny daylight burned or Pages turned
For knowledge yearned from moment born to dust in urn
I know I gave what I could to know some of this world
Don’t think I haven’t noticed you close to the roses and smiling
And you know this
For once you put down the fists and offered up a kiss feeling accomplished
For that, I am thankful and proud
Don’t think I’ll ever say never
Or that our bond can sever
Whatever comes had better run forever
If it thinks I’ll hear a thing absurd
Nothing comes between us ever
For this word
Don’t think
