"Obedience" reduces the album's violence to the mechanism beneath it. After the sexual, bodily, and atmospheric repetitions, the track names the root command: submit, repeat, return.
Its spareness gives it force. In the Relay world, obedience does not need elaborate theology every time; sometimes the system only has to pulse the old instruction and watch the body remember.
