Fast country flavored song
Four Barrel Ghost
|
Klavin was in the Air Force and stationed in Mississippi. He was there for 4 years, and grew to love it down there. The living was slow and easy and the people were friendly. He wrote this song about his time there.

fiogf49gjkf0d Twenty five years ago, Sam sent me there
City born and raised, young without a care
I stepped on off that airplane, the heat was so intense
Shirt stuck to my body, sweat rolled down my neck
Not what I elected
Not what I expected..oh ya
I walked into a restaurant, to get myself a drink
Old man sitting next to me, said son what do ya think?
I know you're not from around here, you're just some city boy
Let me tell you something, about my pride and joy
This ain't no northern city
This ain't your yankee home
Boy you're in Mississippi now
And I'm Mississippi proud
I got to know the people, got to feel their high
Mississippi magic, that deep southern pride
I ate a whole lot of catfish, drank southern whisky too
Listened to some Skynard, so let me tell you
This ain't no New England
There ain't no rocky coast
Boy you're in Mississippi now
And I'm Mississippi proud
My boy was born down there, on a warm December day
We left a year later, but the memories always stay
I miss that country living, miss that southern pride
Remember what that old man said, when he looked in my eyes
This ain't no northern city
This ain't your yankee home
Boy you're in Mississippi now
And I'm Mississippi proud
Boy you're in Mississippi, boy you're in Mississippi
Boy you're in Mississippi now
