Well, this little tune came out late one night on the way back from a gig. It's a classic rock style "road" song...Zep meets Clapton...or som'n. My good friend Nathan Sheppard suggested the flute, in a nod to old Tull. Nathan also put down a mean harp track.

fiogf49gjkf0d I Am The Road
---------------------
I am the Road...Just a long dark stretch of highway
You're burning down...I'm the pavement going my way
I am the road I stretch for miles behind you
A Promise of a past that never finds you
Under the Sun, Under the Moon I am layin' down
I'm just a mighty strip of rock carved into the ground
I am the Road
I am the Road
I am the road...I offer many choices
The tales I tell hold the ghosts of many voices
I am the road I carry friends and strangers
A carnival of adventure love and danger
I can give you freedom no matter where you roam
cause I can take you far away or I can lead you home
I am the Road
I am the Road
I am the road I am the connection
from the past to the future in ev'ry direction
I am the road...for all of your lifetime
from horses to highways I am your bloodline
I control the heartbeat of the land of the free
cause I am America and America is me
I am the Road
I am the Road
