bury the Sun
as we reach
my sepulcher.
Twilight will forget me,
for night has
forsaken my life.
I inhale the mordant welcome
to my dissembling.
Fear has been
consecrated above
reason as god.
The chariots piously charter
the chained
to the pyre
whose smoke abrades
the sunless tower.
They cast me downward:
a lion of Earth!
I watch the executioner
of my body
replenished in the pit!
All that breathes, collapses
under nature or intention,
mercy or severity;
the exit against the will –
the will into the exit.
