Wonderland
When Hal got drunk, he’d go animalistic,
Todd got gentle, a natural born mystic,
Cockroaches run across our kitchen table,
To our girls’ apartment we’d go, young and able.
Where music was the river and desire held our hand,
Down the rabbit hole, in Wonderland.
2. We found our lead guitar at a track meet,
found our bass player at a yoga retreat.
We’d play the whiskey bars, such a bash,
Then Todd got married, Hal got in a car crash.
Drivin’ around the city, the boys in the band,
Found our freedom, in Wonderland.
Down a windy street a saxophone, blowin’ to the new blue
sky dawn, is wailing on
A song from “Blonde on Blonde,” long live Wonderland,
long on Wonderland.
Rooks and queens from pawns,
The kids are coming on.
Though a virus spawns,
The song goes on, the song goes on.
Instrumental
Down a windy street a saxophone...
By order of the golden dawn...
Feel it comin’ on,
Electric wonderland...
