My first attempt at writing a blues toon. Written about a missed opportunity to make amends with the one you love. From our demo CD, performed with our band, Mother Mable; Terry Barbee on drums, Ken Barry on harp, Jim Edwards on bass, Jody Edwards on guitar and backup vox, Dennis Plyler on guitar, and myself on guitar and vocals. :)

JUST THE OTHER DAY,
MY BABY WALKED AWAY.
CLEAN OUTA MY LIFE,
AH, TOO MUCH STRIFE.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO,
I'VE BEEN SUCH A FOOL.
GATHER ROUND ALL OF YOU,
HEAR MY TALE TRIED AND TRUE.
THOSE NIGHTS OF DRINKIN,
SURE GOT ME THINKIN.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO,
I'VE BEEN SUCH A FOOL.
LEAD: V/C (X1)
HEAR MY TALE YOUNG AND OLD,
WAIT TO LATE, YOU'RE IN THE COLD.
SHE WAS THE BEST THING IN MY WORLD,
DON'T BE FOOLED.
I THINK I KNOW WHAT TO DO,
I'VE BEEN SUCH A FOOL.
TIME TO GET MY ACT TOGETHER,
FLY HIGH LIKE BIRDS OF A FEATHER.
THINK I'LL CALL HER UP,
AFTER MY NEXT BEER.
NOW I KNOW WHAT TO DO,
BUT YOU SEE, I'M SUCH A FOOL.
