Song for a Rainy Day

This song started out as a steel drum riff a few months ago. I wanted to use an instrument that was different. California had a very heavy rainy season this year, so I had a lot of time to spend on this project. The guitar melody just came to me within a couple of days. (I like when that happens)
Bryon Tosoff had just written a song called Spring Rain with some awesome piano work. I asked him to fill in a section of my song off the cuff in that same style, which he was more than happy to do. It’s great working with established musicians that can almost read your mind and more than exceed your expectations. Paul Wainwright and his sax playing is another example of that same professional musicianship. Paul is also an excellent mixer/producer too.
