We planted a million seeds in the pasture down the hall,
Went back the very next day, peeked underneath the stall
And saw the monkeys climb above the clouds, above the shroud,
And went in when they climbed away from us... we took the bus
And climbed our way to brighter days beneath the shroud, beneath the clouds
And all day long we dream tall dreams in the Pepur Tree.
We hang pretty pictures on the limbs so high above,
Spread carpet at our feet and therein lies the rub.
We stare at walls, imagine the undertoe, the undergrowth
And when it rains we take a bath... we do the math
And count our way to brighter days in the overgrowth, the overtoeth
And all day long we sing tall sings in the Pepur Tree.
He's been doing this for years, for twenty-five, he climbs, he makes a mess for you to clean up.
Patty sees a dragon fly, she wonders why, she dives, she makes a mess for us to clean up.
Melting faces sing within
As dancing voices drift and spin
And that's how it's always been.
Blackeyed Susan calls my name
Like droplets in a gentle rain.
Twinkling starlight on my face
Wraps me in its warm embrace.
We play in the early sunlight and frolic in the trees.
We lay ourselves at night on the blankets in the leaves
And when the turtles climb above the clouds, above the shroud
We let them in so they can join us too... they bring our food
And crawl their way to brighter days above the clouds, we're all so proud
And all our lives we sleep tall sleeps in the Pepur Tree.
Melting faces sing within
As dancing voices drift and spin
And that's how it's always been.
Blackeyed Susan calls my name
Like droplets in a gentle rain.
Sing our way to brighter days.
