This song is based on a true story told to me by a survivor of the holocaust in Europe during World War II who watched her father being taken away to a concentration camp. At the gate to one of the camps was a sign that said something like "Work will set you free". As people entered the camp they were sent to the left or right-one meaning immediate death, the other meaning "life" in the camp.
Though this song is about World War II it is unfortinate that scenes like this have taken place at other times and probably continue to occur to this day in some parts of the world. Ultomately this song is a wish for peace.

fiogf49gjkf0d "A Child's Eyes"
It must have been about midnight
When the knock came on the door
They said we've come to take your father
But they never said what for
Dragged him through the shattered doorway
My mother's screams heard in the hall
From now on you do it our way
Or we'll come to take you all
A child's eyes should fill with wonder
At the dawning of the day
Broken spirits drag you under
Steal your childhood away
Entire families disappearing
Everyone will get their turn
No friends or neighbors interfering
Sit and watch the fires burn
I smell the fear, I taste the danger
From those I thought of as my own
Familiar faces turn to strangers
Left to face the night alone
A child's eyes....
Left or right what does it matter
The work will never make you free
When dreams are gone and hope is battered
Death is all that you cansee
Generations bear the sorrow
Of visions tatooed on their hearts
Courage most can only borrow
Strength that faith alone imparts
A child's eyes...
