A "sequel" to a previous song of mine called "Solutions"-written for a friend of mine.

This song is kind of a "follow up" to the song "Solutions" which was written a few years ago for a friend of mine who was going through a difficult time in her marriage. "In Between" is about more current events-her ex husband died unexpectedly in a car accident and her new relationship has kind of been put on hold due to differing expectations. The amazing thing to me is that with all this going on she has maintained an incredibly positive outlook- a tribute, I believe, to her inner strength.

In Between
Jeff Lustick 2009
Yesterday I saw your face
Thought I heard your voice
I sometimes feel stuck in this place
Where it's hard to make a choice
I've been told I should move on
Learn to step away
Still the spirits haven't gone
They're with me every day
Can't be time to turn the page
Till I've found my way
If you took the time to look at me
You'd know that I've been lost
No matter what you want to see
My heart has paid the cost
I know it's hard to face the truth
You're seeing in my eyes
But now's the time I need some proof
Not just your disguise
Holding it inside of me
Is such an empty prize
Yoy didn't seem to understand
What I needed you to know
When I reached out for your hand
You walked out the door
It's hard to talk about this now
Knowing where we've been
I know I'll get through somehow
But it helps to have a friend
All I'm asking is the time
To learn to breathe again
All I'm asking is the time
To learn to breathe again
