From the album "Relative Calm" (2006)
My wonderful friend Sascha Bendix sings backings on this one.

Anyone who's been through dark times and come out the other side can probably relate to this song. I virtually wrote the whole thing on a walk over the hills near where I live on a perfect, perfect day.

Preoccupied. Began to slide.
Slipped into darkness for a while.
Don’t get me wrong – I don’t belong
Down where the sunlight’s not that strong.
But we all need to feel our pain
So we can let it go again.
The world has turned and I have learned
And it’s enough for me to breath.
Breath.
This is my time and it’s sublime
Alone under a cloudless sky.
The why, the how, that brought me down,
Seem unimportant here and now.
And I am feeling oh so small
Beside the wonder of it all.
I do not pray, or meditate.
But it’s enough for me to breath.
Breath.
So when life cheats you, scream and shout.
Don’t be afraid to let it out.
Cause nothing stays the same –
You’re gonna see the sun, you’re gonna see the sun
Again. Yeah, yeah.
Breath. Breath.
The world has turned and I have learned
And it’s enough for me to breath.
The world has turned and I have learned
And it’s enough for me to breath.
