This song was written about Harry and I poking fun at ourselves. Harry has the speaking voice at the end. "Better Luck Next Time Jim"
When I was young, I had a band, and played all the bar
All the while, I hoped to be, a famous country star
I wrote some songs, and got a around, and played a lot of gigs
But I always kept, my truckin’ job, cause I never made it big

I ran into a friend, that I knew, who used to tag along
We decided, me and him, should write a country song
He wrote the verses, while I played, it turned out pretty good
We wrote a couple, dozen more, and did the best we could

I taught myself, to write a song, and taught myself to sing
I taught myself, to play guitar, and how to change a string
Had Nashville dreams, but it seems, I never had much luck
I’m still sittin’, here at home, and I’m still drivin’ truck

We were so proud, of all our songs, we thought the world should see
We decided, then and there, to make our own CD
This is where, the trouble came, he thought that he should sing
We flipped a coin, to help decide, and he won everything

He calls me up, twice a month, to ask me how it goes
My girlfriend thinks, he mostly calls, to brag about his shows
He’s always on, the Opry, and he gets a lot of laughs
If he ain’t makin’, videos, he’s signin’ auto-graphs

I taught him how, to write a song, I taught him how to sing
I taught him how, to play guitar, I taught him everything
Now he’s down there, without a care, and I’m still drivin’ truck
There ain’t no justice, in this world, some guys have all the luck
