A song about life and love.

Harry Hamm wrote this song to his wife Arlene shortly before he passed away. My band at the time "Big River" performed it live in his garage on a reel to reel tape deck. Harry and I wrote several songs together.

BEFORE I GO
We’ve been together oh so long, my darlin’
A love like ours ain’t easy to create
We’ve shared our hopes and dreams dear, forever
Since first we met in 1958
Just hold my hand and tell me that you love me
Look in my eyes and tell me that you know
How much I’ve loved you, oh my darlin’
And would you hold me one more time before I go
Our lives dear, now are slowly fadin’
It won’t be long and they’ll turn out the lights
Let’s enjoy our last days together
And hold me now like it was our last night
How much I’ve loved you, oh my darlin’
And would you hold me one last time before I go
