fiogf49gjkf0d The Old Brownstone
The windows were boarded on the old brownstone
Well to look at the place, you’d think that no one was home
Behind the doors of that four story shell
Sat a handful of people, just given’ their minds hell
Without in the streets, no one came near
And all conversations revolved around fear
As gun shots and sirens rang out in the night
We sat empty headed as high as a kite
Well, how were we to know that farther along,
Our Father would give us all a new song
And how were we to know that every thing would be right
And our lives would be changed from the darkness to the light
Well even the little children had frowns on their faces
And everyone dreamed of those far away places
Where the people were happy and the sun always shined
As we drank another bottle of that ninety cent wine
Well, how were we to know that farther along,
Our Father would give us all a new song
And how were we to know that every thing would be right
And our lives would be changed from the darkness to the light
Through all the faces and through all the names
Well some of them died and some stayed the same
But a few of our lives we were changed in one night
By the power of God from the darkness to the light
Well, how were we to know that farther along,
Our Father would give us all a new song
And how were we to know that every thing would be right
And our lives would be changed from the darkness to the light
Well now we know, that everything is all right
You see our lives have been changed…. by the Lord Jesus Christ
