sitting by this lazy river

left the city in the morning
and i found myself right here
sitting by this river
just me and my dear
then a chorus of crikets
playing to the setting sun
watched this glassy river
melt awzay and away
and we were singing
time goes by
into the steamy air
and along this lazy river
time goes by
we put away our cares and fears
and let the memories take us back
take me back
we counted out our blessings
i had another beer
we frolicked in the sunshine
she dancede everywhere
no the birds and bees
and more kissess please
my little girl and i
waded up that river
and we stared into the sky
