The Lyricist
My name is Lance Starks a.k.a. The Lyricist. I am a Rapper, Producer, Engineer, Actor, and Artist. Major credits consist of two major movies, Amerika, and The Fighting Temptations. I did stand up comedy for three years. I currently have a CD out called Trials & Tribulations. I have been doing music for over 20 years, and have done five albums. I have over 1000 original tracks ranging from smooth R&B to hard core Hip Hop. My current music style is Contemporary Gospel Hip Hop, which I have found is my favorite. Music is my passion and I hope to show the world one day that it is ok to Praise the Lord and still listen to some good Hip Hop music. I feel that the world needs to hear the Word and that sometimes Hip Hop is the only way to reach the younger generation, once they hear the beat they are bound to listen to the lyrics and that’s when I hit them with the Word of GOD.
I have done several shows which show case my skill and leave the audience with some thing to think about. Doing music for so long has enabled me to meet some really great people in the industry. I have met Marvis Fraizer, Melissa Morgan, Irene Cara, Pete Orta, and countless others that have hipped me to business as well as some spiritual advice that has helped me to stay focus on my job at hand, to show the young people of the world that hard work and staying right and prayerful to the Lord will help you to accomplish any thing that you want to achieve in this life.
I grew up in the church and when I got older I rebelled some and found out that that was not the way I wanted to live my life. I prayed to the Lord to change my life and my thinking and He gave me the ability to do my music in a way that will benefit the world as well as keep me on the right track so that my life and heart will always be dedicated to the Word of GOD.
I am the father of five beautiful children, three girls and two boys. I have been married for over 14 years. My wife and I work at home so that we can be close to our children. We love spending time together alone as well as with the children, because we feel that family is the most important aspect of a happy life. God has truly blessed me and now it is time to pass those blessings to the world with my music
