I wrote this song for my very good friend David Roachelle who passed away about six months ago after a long illness.

David was a wonderful Guitar player and singer songwriter. He told me that he was a cowboy in his young days, so I hope that this song captures his spirit.

Biscuits in the saddle
For David
A dream to be framed
wild horses to be tamed
Cowboy driving a herd
a guitar on your back
biscuits in the saddle bag
A warm fire in the camp
with songs by the lamp
You sleep under the stars
there’s no gun by your side
Just the dreams of the nite
Ride Cowboy ride
Through The rainbows in the sky
Your saddle has wings
And your guitar sings
Fly cowboy fly
The green fields of paradise
Your life was not a lie
Your soul will never die
Horseshoes in the sand
Where no one owns the land
You sleep above the stars
Your guitar plays a new song
And we can sing along
Ride Cowboy ride
Through The rainbows in the sky
Your saddle has wings
And your guitar sings
Fly cowboy fly
The green fields of paradise
Your life was not a lie
Your soul will never die
