God views our world through tear-filled eyes

TEARS ARE THE WINDOWS
Every gift I’ve given you
Has been misused or misplaced.
You move on to something new
Before the old is erased.
I helped you find your talent,
But you buried it again.
I can’t count the time I’ve spent
Whispering, “Remember when …”
Tears are the windows
I watch my world through.
They’ve always been here
Between me and you.
I’ve given you the whole world -
The moon, the sun, and the stars.
Every insult that you’ve hurled
Has left behind some scars.
I promised you forever,
An eternity of bliss.
You thought it was so clever
To betray me with a kiss.
Tears are the windows
I watch my world through.
They’ve always been here
Between me and you.
I left you a terse memo:
“Deal with me now – or later!”
I wrote it on a rainbow
And signed it “The Creator.”
I’ll keep sending you these signs,
These messages from above,
Like I sent my only Son -
So that you could know my love.
Tears are the windows
I watch my world through.
They’ve always been here
Between me and you.
