Hi folks, another song of mine that I wrote when I was 14, but I have just newly recorded it.
The song is about capital punishment to young people in 19th century England.
It's one of the rare ones that I wrote and play on guitar, so please forgive my dreadful playing! ;-/

He rises with the dawn
And doesn't care to mourn
He stands and greets the day
With nothing left to say
He roams the grounds alone
The last left probit known
A stranger to the sight
He's seen most every night
He takes his final stride
And holds his head with pride
The vicar says a prayer
But no one seems to care
His wicked soul cries out
But no-one hears him shout
They're all too blind to see
The blessedness in he
They strip him good and clear
Then weak, resort to fear
The ruthless guards will jeer
The last he'll ever hear
The money that was spent
Is wasted every cent
The meal he will refrain
It goes whirling down the drain
The hunger's all the same
Keeps turning him insane
He takes his final stride
And holds his head with pride
The vicar says a prayer
But no one seems to care
His wicked soul cries out
But no-one hears him shout
They're all too blind to see
The blessedness in he
The rope that took them all
Swings mocking high and tall
The gallant cry rings through
The heart he never knew
Now proud and straight he stands
With calm they tie his hands
The bright imborstaled foe
Goes plunging t'ward the snow
He takes his final stride
And holds his head with pride
The vicar says a prayer
But no one seems to care
His wicked soul cries out
But no-one hears him shout
They're all too blind to see
The blessedness in he
He took his final stride
And held his head with pride
The vicar said a prayer
But no one seemed to care
His wicked soul cried out
but no-one heard him shout
They fail to see it still
He knows they always will
