Cardboard Condo
Written by: Gregory Fitzpatrick
Performed by: FITZ
It ain’t got no windows just a hole in the side
I just sit and watch the end of the century go bye
Ain’t got no cable, ain’t got no heat
My neighbor is Bobby; He’s a cop on the beat
They say things are looking up so come down and visit me yeah
I’ll be in my cardboard condo at the end of the street
Well I use to have a girl but now she never comes around
She doesn’t like my floor she won’t sleep on the ground
I’m finding out now just who my friends really are
Ah where did everybody go, when I used to own a car?
Yeah but things are looking up I’ve got everything I need
In my cardboard condo at the end of the street
The alley is my cathedral the Laundromat is my heat
The library is my window to the world
My information highway is the street
I’ve got a welcome mat I’ve got a baseball bat
I’ve got yesterdays paper and an old tom cat`
I’ve got a picture of my brother and my Grandpa Tom
I used to have a lot of dreams but most of them are gone
Yeah but things are looking up I’ve got everything I need
In my cardboard condo at the end of the street
Well the stars in the sky make a pretty chandler
Yeah my ceiling is the moon and when it’s full it’s a mirror
Ah the street noise takes away my sense of loneliness
It’s funny how you forget the things that you used to wish
Yeah but things are looking up I’ve got everything I need
Happy in my cardboard condo at the end of the street
Ah things are looking up so come down and visit me yeah
I’ll be in my cardboard condo at the end of the street
I’ll be in my cardboard condo at the end of the street
