The song took about 35 years to complete. It was based on a 1980 song "Lay Down Your Love" by Paul Rubin, but Elliott Michaels blatantly stole the song from Rubin and, with help from his wife June and their friend William Easterling, changed it drastically into what you're hearing today. We believe there has been a dramatic improvement in the song ... listen and confirm our opinion!
