Street lights dot the urban night
Headlights they stream
Fireflies slowly crawling home
Each alone in their dream
Honest men lay awake in bed
Others drugged by TV
Drunkards fight and the smokers hide
The real crooks smiling sleep
And everything’s ok
I remember a time
That’s just in my mind for me
A time when time was occupied
But fireflies would fly high
And make themselves seen
A luminous voice to clean
The air they breathed
I know I know
It’s just how it seemed
Dawn breaks a symbolic smile
Rebirth once again
Then it beams on the discontent
And we start once again
Times have changed just like Bob proclaimed
When the artists made art
It’s cool to idolize celebrity
Integrity whores
And everything’s ok
Fathers and mothers and sisters and brothers
Loners and lovers
Hopers and believers
‘Cos everything’s ok
