The Cadences of My Life
(glimts from the teens)
I stood beside
Watching life happen to the others
I’ll catch up
I saw them smile
Being casual and naturaly calm
Their days would flow
But the sky was near and so lucid autumn blue
A forgiving sign for what might later come true
I felt the same
I didn’t pretend
I just had to take a longer detour
On my own
I never went
Looking for the fun I heard about
It was near and filled with dreams
They made it clear
What they found I wouldn’t understand
I’ll catch up
But the sky was near and so lucid autumn blue
A forgiving sign for what might later come true
It didn’t feel like me
I didn’t pretend
My voice came from someone else
It wasn’t me
And I just had to joke it away
Joke it away
Into the night or just the next day
