Walking round in this filthy city I find my broken dreams (all my hope is gone)
This whole life it's such a pity when I think about the things that might have been
Spent my time building piles of money I could never get enough (never enough)
Thinking back it's kind of funny.....I had way too much
Now I stand here without a penny I'm begging for your change (could you spare a dime)
Mistakes I've made so many and I think about these foolish games I played
From your side you see it clearly but things aren't what they seem (read between the lines)
Once I was a man respected..........I had everything
That any man could need, and you were here with me
Sharing everything, I always seemed to win
But you know me no I'm, I'm never satisfied
The biggest price was paid, when you went away
I don't need I don't need your pity I still have my self esteem (don't pity me)
I was blind but I see clearly what I wanted most was right in front of me
Now I stand here a broken man but the part that really stings (really breaks my heart)`
I think that now that I understand it.....I had everything
That any man could need when you were here with me
Sharing everything I always seemed to win
But you know me no I'm, I'm never satisfied
The biggest price was paid when you went away
