Mystery of Mount Ararat "Ararat" means holy ground, this is where the ark of Noah Landed at about 13000 feet above sea level on the southern slope of the mountain. The ark has slipped into a deep opening and is in six sections and had been discovered since early 300 BC and because the the elevation and difficult terrain and the hard climbing and as well the slippage in to an opening of the mountain it was again lost . Since then it has been rediscovered by the Armenians and other peoples in the area, mostly turks and russians. Although its remains are protected and many artifacts are now with the Turks and Russians and the ability to get to it is only through special means and permissions.
