IMPNATION RADIO Way happening vibe on Faces, lovely instrumentation, neat musical interplay again on another gem from the pen of Bob Elliott. Tripping out on the intro, dig that percussive thing , bass really holding it together with the percussion ,very melodic bass line too, a big part of the song indeed , , and the percussive aspect is just there, not in the way, doing its part to pull it along. So love the authentic gritty gravely vocals of Bob is so cool. Well the thing that Certainly catches your attention with Faces, right away is the fluid elements of melody of that tasty flute and rich solid guitar with its rhythm and chord shapes making its part supporting the song throughout, well balanced and tastefully presented ,in the beginning I do like that well placed organ way back very subtle and you have to lend an ear to really catch its phrasing. Such cool progressions and chord transitions. very nice simple jazzy piano chords supporting the song as it flows into the last remnants of the tune slowing fading away like a shimmering sunset in the distance. Another stellar cool well crafted song from Bob and friends, well produced and stellar musicianship, big ups. bryon tosoff
