We never figured out the meaning of this song but it has alot of rumours, one being a baby that they dropped off the bridge. If anybody knows the meaning of the song let me know.

It was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty Delta day

And Mama said it was shame about Billy Joe, anyhow

And Brother said he recollected when he and Tom and Billie Joe
Put a frog down my back at the Carroll County picture show

A year has come 'n' gone since we heard the news 'bout Billy Joe
