little five year old jody rose
one of the children at the orphan's home
big brown eyes, her hair in braids
and a cute little turned up nose
it was my year to play santa
and as I held little jody on my lap
"what would you like for christmas" I asked
maybe a puppy or a pretty hat
but she just replied "all that I'm dreamin' of"
is my own family to love
