Growing up, looking back - melacholic.

We walked along a beach in Spain
And scratched our names in the sand
Then lost them to the tide
You had a sparkler in your ice cream
I drank lemonade
And we watched the sparkler die
All those endless afternoons in June
All those perfect moments lost in youth
We watched the sun sink in the harbour
Heard the waves on the seashore
And wondered where they'd go
You found the ocean in a seashell
Put the shell in a suitcase
And took the ocean home
All those endless afternoons in June
All those perfect moments lost in youth
Now all we have is a photograph
Of two small dolls who laughed at everything they saw
And never heard the lies
All the time we never knew
The two dolls growing into statues
Closed their eyes and kissed it all goodbye
You found the ocean in a seashell.
