urban ballad
|
I live in South Auckland The highest crime rate in New Zealand. I was driving by one day and saw this little child with its nose pressed up aginst the window .The grass was long ,no flowers anywhere.I could feel the misery of there lives and went home and wrote this song...... but it relates to the urban jungel all over the world

AS I RIDE BY
IN THIS URBAN JUNGEL
LOOK OUT MY WINDOW
AND I CANT SEE
NO FLOWERS GROWING
NO FLOWERS GROWING
AT ALL
BROWN TEARS FLOWING
GRASS OVERGROWING
NOSES RUNNING
MOTHERS CRYING
PLEASE HELP ME
HELP ME NOW
PLEASE HELP ME NOW
LITTLE SOFT NOSES PRESSING
ON COLD WINDOW
STARING OUT AT
BIG EYES LOOKING
WHERE COULD THERE BE
AWAY FROM MAN MADE MISERY
MANS MISERY
CHORUS
BIG CAR COMES AND TAKES DADDY AWAY
MUMMY SITS ON THE FLOOR
SHE BEGINS TO PRAY
WE STOP AND STARE
SILENCE EVERYWHERE
WE KNOW WE GONNA BE ALRIGHT NOW
WE GONNA BE ALRIGHT
Tag
SO HUSH LITTLE BABY DONT YOU CRY
DADDIES GONE FOR A LONG LONG RIDE
SO HUSH LITTLE BABY DONT YOU CRY
DADDIES GONE FOR A LONG LONG RIDE
IN THE HYWAY IN THE SKY.
