SILVER SHIPS
A flash of silver splinters
I can hardly I can barely
I can hardly even snatch
Catch a glimpse
Oh so fleeting I may even catch my death
It seems the frosty air has found
Its way to leave
A cold and final imprint on my breath
Beacons from those distant corners of this
Of this universe each night
If they could speak
If they could talk
Communicate with us relate
What would they tell
Could they relate
If they could
Cast their gaze upon
The sorry and pathetic state
In which we find ourselves
Are they too late
On their interstellar path
They must have seen so many other worlds
So much more pleasing to the naked naked
Naked eye
All those different forms of spirit
Other kinds other forms of life
Let those memories
Memories unfold
Let their stories
Their adventures
Now be told
Tales of silver ships that sail majestically
Beyond way beyond
Beyond the speed
Speed of light
Swirling clouds
Clouds of radiance
Dance before our eyes
There is one question we should ask ourselves
Before they break the silence
In view of all this ugliness
In view of all this violence
Would they acclaim
Or would they cosmically indict as we drift slowly into sight
Silver ships silver craft
Golden ways golden rafts
We stand divided
Anywhere but side by side
How many flags do we need
They only serve to propagate our greed
How many flags do we need
They only serve to illustrate our need
How many banners
How many pennants
Must be burned before we gain the eyes to see
Silver ships silver craft
Golden ways golden rafts
We stand divided
Anywhere but side by side
How many flags do we need
They only serve to propagate our greed
How many flags do we need
They only serve to illustrate our need
How many banners
How many pennants
Must be burned before we gain the eyes to see
Silver ships silver craft
Golden ways golden rafts
We stand divided
Anywhere but side by side
How many flags do we need
They only serve to propagate our greed
How many flags do we need
They only serve to illustrate our need
How many banners
How many pennants
Must be burned before we gain the eyes to see
