NEWBORN CENTURY
As I lie beneath the stars
Beneath the stars sometimes I lie
I lie and meditate
Take the time to contemplate
The majesty of space
A never ending march a long progression
A procession without end
The more my eyes acclimatise the further my mind bends
Too many stars to comprehend
So many galaxies we’ve yet to find
So many people so little space
One day the race of tan they will transcend this place
In ships of silver they will forge a path
Through the vacuum through the vastness
An interstellar intergalactic cosmic embrace
The sorrows that now plague this newborn century
Long since erased
Misguided chapter from our infancy
The annals from our time are archived under shame
Newborn century
Misguided chapter of our history
It’s here and now
Here and now
Here and now we need
Here and now we need to make that change
Newborn century
Newborn century
Newborn century
Here and now here and now
Here and now we need
Here and now we need to make that change
Newborn century
