DOWNSTREAM
There’s a river that flows
And her water is always so cold
As I her do behold
I’m in awe my soul she does enfold
The river runs deep
And her banks are eroding away
Her current’s so strong
There is really no time for delay
As I look back as I look back
On the times that I’ve had
The things that I’ve done
I wonder if I wonder if I
Went and got it all wrong did it all wrong
As I look downstream
My life unfolds before me
Somehow it seems more like a dream
More like a dream
Through the course of it all I begin to distinguish a theme
And the river she still flows
Her water it still feels so cold
As I stand here in truth
I am naked my story now told
Oh the river’s so deep
And her current is pulling me in
Only time can determine
Just whether I’ll sink or I’ll swim
As I look downstream
My life unfolds before me
Somehow it seems more like a dream
More like a dream
Through the course of it all I begin to distinguish a theme
And the river she’s still flowing on
Her current still flowing so strong
Her banks still eroding away
There’s still not much time for delay
As I look downstream
My life unfolds before me
Somehow it seems more like a dream
More like a dream
In the light of it all I begin to distinguish a theme
