BITTER SEED
Today I glimpsed a mask
I could not fathom
Those former lines of tenderness now twitching spasms
The light that you once used to share
Has dimmed there’s a foulness there’s a foulness in the air
A poison spreading through the confines of your chasm
I don’t know what went wrong
I’m not sure where it started
Sometimes these things just have a way of turning nasty
Can’t place the time can’t seem to place
Just where the sun slipped from your face
Or where you lost the last of what was your direction
CHORUS
I hope you slip that bitter seed slip that bitter seed and make it happen
Before the wolves they tear the heart out of your passion
The life you led’s now dead and gone
You lost your purpose got it wrong
I cannot be I will not be the focal point of your your distraction
I hope and pray a future for yourself
That you in time will fashion
Let slip the cloud that mars and suffocates
Your every deed and action
Life is too short to dwell and flounder in the past
To linger in what might or could have been
Cling on to what was really never meant to last
CHORUS
I hope you slip that bitter seed slip that bitter seed and make it happen
Before the wolves they tear the heart out of your passion
The life you led’s now dead and gone
You lost your purpose got it wrong
I cannot be I will not be the focal point of your your distraction
Bitter seed slip that bitter seed
Make it happen
Slip that bitter seed
Slip that bitter seed
And make it happen
Will not be the focal point of your distraction
No slip that bitter seed
Make it happen
