One day, I received a phone call from USAF Captain Darrell Bogan who had a burden on his heart to write a song in tribute the many homeless veterans across the nation. Today, this song titled "Stretch Out Your Hand" is now the theme song for the new non-profit charity named the American Homeless Veteran Association Inc. All downloads or money generated from this song will go to those who sacrificed so much for our freedom in the United States of America. Thanks for support and I hope this song inspires you as it inspires me. The AHVA, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to combating homelessness among veterans. The organization is made up of Civilians, Active Duty personnel, National Guard men and women, and Reservist whose mission is to leave no military member behind. One Hundred percent (100%) of their fund raising initiatives goes toward food and shelter for homeless veterans. Incorporated in January 2010, the AHVA was established as a service organization dedicated to the Air Force adopted core value of service before self. Mission:The goals of AHVA, Inc. are (1) to let homeless veterans know they are not forgotten; (2) provide hope, inspiration, motivation, and mentoring for them and their children; (3) give their brothers and sisters a helping hand; and (4) raise national awareness to the challenges faced by homeless veterans. The organization holds four fundraising events per year: an annual fall fundraising concert in October; two 5/10K walk/runs - one on Memorial Day and one on Veterans Day; and an annual Holiday Food & Gift Drive.
