Once upon a time, a former friend of mine wanted to try his hand at writing music, he chose country. Not being familiar with country I gave it a shot. I love elements of country, slide guitars, twangy telecasters. this is what we came up with, but the earlier version that I put up did not have a drum part, and I was surprised when I found this former take that had a whole drum track.

Straight out of Central casting
Never saw her comin
Thought I’d get through life by floatin
Then I realized she wasn’t Jokin
I believe I killed a woman
By not sweepin her away
We were about to happen
But I buried us instead
With the trivial, we’re absorbed
Ought to devote to a worthier cause
To find out what you’re made of
Grab the courage to fall in love
Grab the courage to fall in love
Grab the courage to fall in love
Grab the Courage
I believe I killed a woman
Who had a pic of any man
They were lined up to court her
I upset her well made plans
(So-Low)
There are things I aspire to do
Places I hope to see
Couldn’t get pinned to just one spot
It’s not what I wanted to be
Well, I guess I wasn’t ready
Hadn’t yet become me
When I finally held it steady
Wound up the symbol for lonely.
I believe I killed a woman
By staying above the fray
I’m declarin safe neutrality
I’m pronounced
The most guilty
(I believe I killed a woman
By staying above the fray
I’m declarin safe neutrality
I’m pronounced
The most guilty)
