This song represents an episode in my life relating to one Mitchell Ian Huppert, who had confronted me with several song lyrics I should make into songs, we could try to sell. This sad story, is the result of a six month period where I was buffeted by stories of "The Girl that Got Away" - Eventually, I told him, either go back to New York and see her, or, Journal it. Write about it. And so he wrote about it, several lyrics, some of which I thought had promise, this is one of them. But he did not want to allow me my full rights as a songwriter to publish my songs online, for my friends to hear, it was my work as much as his.

Now, the story of this song, is the story of a sad individual, who went on a quest against me and IMP to get the song removed. With great difficulty, we got him to stop a parade of emails sent from fake addresses, over 150 of them on one weeks time, but spreading across a 3 month period. I submitted the song for Copyright Registration which was finally approved in June, 2011, dating the registration back to 2009. During the past three years, his family had contacted me, one member telling me, what girlfriend, he lived with his mother until his mid-30's and never ever went out on a date. Worked in the early 90's in one small data programming job, he knew rudimentary programming. The girl never existed. I never understood why he made up this Fiction about a girl in Brooklyn he let get away, there never was a girl. When I talk to my guy-buddies about past sexual exploits, I do not make up tales and my fiends do not make them up, and so when he told me about the girl, I believed him. But this guy never touched one, and would not know what to do with one. Which is very sad, that he decided to start this crap with me. Well, I have the right to post my opinion of the guy - He can do the same about me, on his own website... But I'll never bother reading it, if he does so, I never want to see this guy again.
