This is to DEMO some Pro Tools Tricks regarding the use of Normalising.
This is a 4-Track recording. The Basic Tracks, Drums Bass and Guitar were played on Three tracks and bounced down to One Track.
On Subsequent Tracks were added:
1) A SECOND drum track!
2) A Second BASS track!
3) 2 background vocals
3) A third Guitar Track
4) and the Lead Vocal Track.
This was originally recorded on a TASCAM 244, with the DBX Noise Reduction,
there was absolutely NO noise, which was why the 244 Portastudio was a great
Professional piece of equipment.
I dumped all 4 tracks at once from a 27 YEAR OLD tape! Into Pro Tools.
The first thing I did was NORMALISE everything, where there was no source noise to begin with, you are not really gonna add more.
Then I adjusted the GAINS of the tracks in various spots, so I would not have to ride the Mix, cos if you have to ride the mix? You did something rong.
Actually, I had to ride the mix on this song a bit in the original Portastudio, but I fixed that.
I Also changed a lot of the characteristics of that 3rd Guitar so that it had some substance.
I Hope you like the result.

When the City of Atlantis, Stood Serene Above the Sea...
Long time before our TIME when the world was free...
Those were the Days
Golden seagulls flying on Ocarina Sound,
Before world, Medusa serpents gave birth to hell x
