An odd little folky/pop song with a chorus that's fun to sing.

Written, Performed, and Produced by Tom O'Brien

I was reading recently about dying languages around the globe, and I thought, how would that feel to be the last speaker of the language of your ancestors?
I am the last man on the Earth who speaks my language
All my friends are dead and gone away
The last man on the Earth with cries of anguish
Mourning all the words I've yet to say

Last man on the earth
To tell our stories
Last man on the earth
To sing our songs
Last man on the earth
To tell of glories
And the last man on the earth
To know our wrongs

I am the first to greet the sun every morning
Even if it sometimes be at half past ten
It's the only way to tell that time is passing
With the rising and the setting once again

Chorus

Talking to myself
Do I answer back?
Can I be to me
The company I lack?

One day I'll leave this village all abandoned
And the setting of the sun will be my last
I lived in spring, in winter I was stranded
As the solo speaker of a language past

Chorus x

Coffee & Cream
Groovy track, the vocals are charmin', recalls David crosby or Paul simon maybe, the production is tasteful if spare, neat melody, recalls "the only living boy in n.y" in places a bit, would be at home on a Paul Simon cd, kudos...

How a Muse sing? Yes! This IS... "how a muse sings!" -M- (Musings)
