Edgy guitars against charming lyric.

Found these lyrics that I'd written and forgotten about 30 years ago while cleaning out my parents' old house. The story: I was making dinner one night and looking through the spice cabinet when I noticed the jar that said "Rosemary Leaves" and I thought - wow, what if I'd lived with a girl named "Rosemary" and she left - how's it going to feel having this constant reminder?

Rosemary Leaves
Rosemary Leaves
Rosemary
Rosemary and I thought we'd lived
Long enough to be
Wary of the lines drawn between
Love and lust, and now she's gone
And shown me how divergent those lines are
I wonder who she's kissing as I'm
Standing, staring at a jar
And the jar said "Rosemary Leaves"
As if I didn't know
I kept it there behind
An empty jar of thyme
Wisely hidden by a
Keen, unconscious mind
And the jar said "Rosemary Leaves"
But it doesn't say where Rosemary goes
Another fast tonight
I've lost my appetite
An empty table seems to beg a fragrant
Rose
Rosemary leaves
Rosemary
Rosemary and I lived on a
Different world where light
Sang from our eyes
We bathed in each
Other's soul and now as I
Prepare a lonely supper for myself
I start to cry through laughter at the
Irony on one small shelf
And the jar said "Rosemary Leaves"
As if I didn't know
I kept it there behind
An empty jar of thyme
Wisely hidden by a
Keen, unconscious mind
And the jar said "Rosemary Leaves"
But it doesn't say where Rosemary goes
Another fast tonight
I've lost my appetite
An empty table seems to beg a fragrant
Rose
Rosemary Leaves
Rosemary Leaves
Rosemary
