Katabatic Acrobatics - Tombstone Chronicles XII Zephyr

Holworks Music 2026

“Katabatic Acrobatics” is a raw, resilient anthem about the sudden freefall of being cut loose—and the defiant art of landing on your feet before the week is even over.

It opens with the cold theater of downsizing: a map unrolled under stage lights, thirteen hundred names, only seven kept. When the floor drops out, the air turns glacial. What follows is pure kinetic survival—hard falls through blackness, triple twists in the freezing dark, boots hitting ground already pointed toward something better. The narrator walks out alone, badge already cold, refuses to watch the old story burn, and rewrites it on the spot.

By Monday he’s through a brand-new door at Johnson & Johnson, same boots now stomping louder than before. The chorus—“Still flying — different wind!”—lands like a battle cry: the fall wasn’t the end, just the launch.

Equal parts working-class grit, aerial metaphor, and quiet triumph, the song turns corporate ejection into high-wire acrobatics under a katabatic gale—cold, fast, and ultimately liberating.

Katabatic Acrobatics

They rolled that map across the stage
Thirteen hundred names under the lights
“If you see your name, you’re in,” they said
Only seven stuck — mine wasn’t in sight

Floor dropped out
Cold air rushed in

Katabatic acrobatics!
Hard fall through the black
Triple twist in the freezing dark
On my feet before the week came back
Still flying — different wind!

Walked out to the parking lot alone
Old badge already turning cold
Didn’t wait around to watch it burn
Made the call and flipped the story told

Floor dropped out
But I caught the air

Katabatic acrobatics!
Hard fall through the black
Triple twist in the freezing dark
On my feet before the week came back
Still flying — different wind!

Monday morning, brand-new door
Johnson & Johnson, different floor
Same two boots that left that hall
Now stomping louder than before

Katabatic acrobatics!
Hard fall through the black
Triple twist in the freezing dark
On my feet before the week came back
Still flying — different wind!
Still flying — different wind!
