What happened to "Make love not war" have we learned anything?

Music and lyrics by Vincenzo Pandolfi © 2007

There was somewhere a field of green,
young people shared a dream,
a common thought unseen.
The smell of grass the sound of steel,
while Jimi played, the "Star spangled banner".

For days they sang among the crowd,
while brothers closed their eyes
in a different field of green.
Freedom took their breath and soul,
what happened to "make love not war".

Rain followed the wind,
soaked up the grass,
and turned it to mud;
and the crowd would not go,
then the band played again. .

What happened to those,
who played in the rain,
who shared in the dream.
Where's the world without fear,
did they just waste the years.
Where have all the dreamers gone
Where is the hope;
that place is not here.

Solo

There is somewhere a field of green,
where brothers close their eyes,
while we sip wine and fear.
Freedom takes their breath and soul,
what happened to "make love not war"

Solo

Where's the world without fear,
did they just waste the years.
Where have all the dreamers gone
Where is the hope
that place is not here.

Where's the world without fear, did they just waste the years. Where have all the dreamers gone Where is the hope that place is not here. My, oh my, this is so sad in that it is so true... a song to make the heart ache. Very touching. -M-
